AfterHour Inc. ("AfterHour," "we," "us," or "our") provides Alpha, including the Alpha mobile application, alpha.so, and related products and services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use Alpha.
Alpha is primarily intended for users in the United States.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
We collect information you choose to provide, such as:
- Account information, including name, email address, phone number, username, profile details, and authentication method
- Messages, prompts, reactions, preferences, watchlists, interests, trading settings, risk settings, avatar choices, and other content you create or send in Alpha
- Support messages, survey responses, feedback, and other communications with us
- Optional media or inputs you provide, such as profile images, generated avatar inputs, screenshots, or voice input
Alpha app and product information
We collect information needed to operate Alpha, such as:
- Your Alpha's name, style, configuration, memory, conversation history, and personalization settings
- Paper portfolio information, including simulated holdings, orders, activities, balances, performance, trade reasoning, and leaderboard-visible data
- Public or shareable Alpha profile information, such as username, avatar, rank, performance, holdings, and recent paper trading activity when a feature is designed to be public
- Subscription and entitlement status, including plan tier, product ID, app store transaction identifiers, renewal or expiration state, and purchase-provider events
- Notification preferences, push tokens, delivery status, and interactions with notifications
Information collected automatically
When you use Alpha, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and app information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, identifiers, crash data, and diagnostic logs
- Usage information, such as pages or screens viewed, features used, taps and interactions, session information, referral source, and approximate location derived from IP address
- Website information, such as IP address, browser type, referring pages, pages viewed, and cookie or similar technology data
- Security information used to detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or technical issues
Information from third parties
We may receive information from third parties that help provide Alpha, such as:
- Authentication providers, such as Apple, Google, or phone authentication providers
- App stores and purchase providers, such as Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat
- Analytics, attribution, crash reporting, observability, cloud, AI infrastructure, market data, and messaging providers
- Other users or public sources when they interact with you, your Alpha, or public Alpha features
Information we do not currently collect
Alpha does not currently ask you to connect a brokerage account or bank account, and we do not currently collect brokerage credentials, Social Security numbers, external brokerage holdings, bank routing or account numbers, or full payment card numbers.
Payments for mobile subscriptions are handled by the applicable app store or purchase provider. We receive subscription status and related transaction identifiers, but not your full card details.
If we introduce features that require new categories of sensitive financial information, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide notice or consent where required.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Alpha
- Create and secure accounts
- Personalize chat, memories, digests, notifications, avatar experiences, and product settings
- Operate paper trading, public profiles, leaderboards, market commentary, and copy-trade flows
- Process subscriptions, verify entitlements, restore purchases, prevent billing abuse, and manage paid-feature access
- Send service messages, support responses, security alerts, product updates, and notifications you request or allow
- Analyze usage, measure product performance, debug errors, prevent fraud, and keep the Services safe
- Develop new features, conduct research, and create aggregated or de-identified insights
- Enforce our terms, comply with law, and protect the rights, safety, and property of users, AfterHour, and others
3. AI and Automated Features
Alpha uses automated systems and AI infrastructure to generate chat responses, summaries, trade reasoning, market commentary, personalization, and other product experiences. Information you provide to Alpha may be processed by these systems and by service providers that help us operate them.
AI-generated output may be inaccurate or incomplete. We use information to improve quality, safety, reliability, and personalization, subject to our contracts and applicable law.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in these circumstances:
- Service providers: with vendors that help us provide hosting, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, observability, purchase management, app-store billing support, messaging, push notifications, AI infrastructure, market data, customer support, security, and similar services
- Public features: when you use public or shareable features, such as public Alpha profiles, leaderboards, shared links, usernames, avatars, and paper portfolio performance
- Third-party services you use: when you choose to open or connect with a third-party app, website, app store, brokerage, or authentication provider
- Legal and safety reasons: when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, property, users, the Services, or the public
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction
- With your direction or consent: when you ask us to share information or otherwise consent
We may also share aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information that does not reasonably identify you.
5. Cookies and Analytics
Alpha and alpha.so may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the Services working, remember preferences, understand usage, measure marketing performance, improve the product, and protect against abuse.
We use analytics and observability tools, which may include providers such as Google Analytics, Firebase, PostHog, and Datadog. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Mobile platforms may also provide settings for notifications, analytics, tracking, and advertising preferences.
Alpha does not currently use mobile advertising identifiers for iOS or Android app analytics.
6. Your Choices
Depending on your location and how you use Alpha, you may be able to:
- Access, correct, or delete certain account information in the app
- Request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information
- Opt out of marketing emails by using unsubscribe links or contacting us
- Disable push notifications through your device settings
- Manage subscriptions, cancellations, renewals, and refunds through the app store or purchase provider where you subscribed
- Control cookies through your browser settings
- Request account deletion by using in-app tools where available or contacting us
We may need to verify your request before acting on it. Some information may be retained where necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backups, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, operate public or shared features, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, and support legitimate business purposes.
We may retain aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information for longer periods.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can help protect your account by keeping your login methods secure and notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Children
Alpha is not intended for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have privacy rights, such as the right to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, and the right to opt out of certain sharing or sale practices.
We do not sell personal information. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any required choices.

11. International Users
Alpha is primarily intended for users in the United States. If you use Alpha from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the Services, by email, or by another reasonable method. The updated policy will be effective when posted unless we say otherwise.
